Luojiang is a district of Deyang in Sichuan, at the northeastern edge of the Chengdu Plain. Its urban area is compact, with a central grid of streets that quickly gives way to farmland and villages. To the north and east the ground begins to rise into low hills, and the roads leaving town start to curve and follow the terrain.
The area has a place in the history of the Three Kingdoms period. Near Baima Pass, a short distance outside the town, a shrine and tomb are dedicated to Pang Tong, the strategist who served Liu Bei and was killed nearby. The site lies on an old route that once linked the Sichuan Basin with the north.
