Madruga is a town in Mayabeque Province, east of Havana, on the Carretera Central, the historic highway that runs the length of Cuba. Within the country it is known for its mineral springs and spa baths, which have drawn visitors to its waters for generations. The surrounding municipality is agricultural, with farms spread across gently rolling land.
The map shows a compact town with a fairly regular grid of streets and blocks of low houses around a central park, a layout typical of Cuban provincial towns. The Carretera Central crosses the town and gives it a clear main axis, while smaller roads lead out to farms and nearby communities. Beyond the edge of town, the land opens into fields and low hills.
