Maghār is a town in Israel's Northern District, in the Lower Galilee west of the Sea of Galilee. It is built on the southern slopes of Mount Hazon, looking out over the valley below. The population is mixed, with Druze, Christian and Muslim residents, and each community has its own neighbourhoods within the town.
On a map, the slope defines Maghār. Streets run along the contours in long, curving lines and are linked by steeper connecting lanes. Houses climb higher up the hill in terraces. Olive groves and open ground surround the built-up area, and the valley floor spreads out to the south.
