Dense town centre
The oldest part of town reads as a tight cluster of short, irregular lanes, drawn close together in contrast to the open ground on every side.

Mahgawān Map Poster & Print
Mahgawān lies in the north of Madhya Pradesh, in the plains of the Chambal region east of Gwalior. The country here is level and open, and on a map the town appears as a small, concentrated patch of streets surrounded by a wide mesh of field boundaries, village tracks and irrigation lines that stretch in every direction.
Like many towns of its size in the region, it works as a local centre for the surrounding villages, with main roads carrying traffic in and out and a market area at its heart. The older lanes are narrow and irregular, while newer building has spread outwards along the roads leading away from the centre.
A Mahgawān map poster captures that contrast between the tight centre and the spacious farmland beyond. It is a restrained, graphic image, the kind of map that may mean little to a stranger and a great deal to someone whose family comes from here.

Roads fanning outwards
A handful of roads leave the centre in different directions, with newer houses and shops lining them, giving the town a loosely star-shaped outline.
Open agricultural plain
Beyond the built-up area the map fills with the fine lines of field edges and rural tracks, the pattern of farmland that surrounds the town.
