Malvar Map Poster
Malvar is a municipality in Batangas province in the Calabarzon region of Luzon, south of Metro Manila. It is named after General Miguel Malvar, a leader of the Philippine Revolution and the Philippine–American War who came from nearby Santo Tomas. On a map the town sits on gently rolling ground between its larger neighbours, Lipa and Tanauan.
The Southern Tagalog Arterial Road, known as the STAR Tollway, runs through the area and gives the map its strongest line, while an older national road passes through the town centre. Around the poblacion, the traditional town core with its church and plaza, the streets are short and tightly spaced before opening into barangays spread across agricultural land.
In recent decades a large industrial estate has developed in Malvar, bringing broad factory plots and new access roads to the map.
