Mangueirinha sits on the high plateau of southwestern Paraná, a region of rolling farmland, rivers and remaining patches of araucaria pine forest. The town is laid out on a compact grid, typical of settlements founded or expanded during the region's twentieth-century colonization, with a main avenue running through the center.
A large part of the municipality belongs to the Mangueirinha Indigenous Land of the Kaingang and Guarani peoples, which protects one of the most significant remaining araucaria forests in Brazil. On the map, this forest is a large, quiet area with few roads. A Mangueirinha map poster shows the town next to that expanse.
