Mengman Map Poster & Print
Mengman lies in Xishuangbanna, the subtropical southern tip of Yunnan Province, not far from the borders with Laos and Myanmar. Like many place names in this Dai region, it begins with "Meng", a word commonly linked to a valley basin, and the map fits that description. The town sits on flat ground ringed by hills.
The streets of the town are concentrated on the valley floor, with roads leading out between fields and plantations. The surrounding hills are steep and mostly wooded or planted, and the roads that climb them twist sharply. Streams drain the slopes and cross the lowland on their way to larger rivers.
A Mengman map poster shows the basic geography of Xishuangbanna in miniature: a cultivated lowland, a compact settlement and green hills on every side. The contrast between the flat valley and the tightly winding hill roads gives the print strong definition, even at a small scale.

Hill roads
Roads leaving the valley bend and switch back as they climb the surrounding slopes, drawing intricate lines across the map.
Streams and fields
Small streams cross the cultivated lowland, and the field boundaries around them create a fine, patchwork texture.
