Mennzel Bou Zelfa lies on the Cap Bon peninsula in north-eastern Tunisia, in the Nabeul Governorate. On a map the town has a clear centre of tight, irregular streets, the kind of layout that grows slowly around a market and a mosque, with newer blocks set more regularly on its outer edges. Beyond them the pattern changes entirely, becoming a fine mesh of agricultural plots.
The town is best known for its citrus, and the orchards of the surrounding plain are part of what the map records.
