Mīnād lies in Kollam district in southern Kerala, near the Arabian Sea coast. Like much of coastal Kerala, it does not have a single compact centre. Houses, lanes and small junctions are spread across the land among coconut palms, paddy fields and water. From above, the map shows a fine, continuous web of small roads rather than a defined urban edge.
The area sits within reach of the backwaters and lagoons that run parallel to the Kerala coast, and water features such as canals and ponds appear among the settled land. Main roads carry traffic toward Kollam and along the coast, while narrow village lanes branch between house plots and gardens.
