Lake communities
Many neighbourhoods wrap around man-made lakes, so small blue shapes, circled by curving streets, repeat across the western half of the city.

Miramar Map Poster & Print
Miramar is a city in southern Broward County, Florida, between the Miami area and Fort Lauderdale. It was founded in the 1950s and grew westward over the following decades, and its map reflects that expansion. The older eastern neighbourhoods have a tighter grid. Further west, planned communities of looping streets and cul-de-sacs spread across the former wetland.
A regular framework of wide boulevards runs east–west and north–south, dividing the city into large sections. Within these sections, developers dug lakes to create fill and drainage, so the map is covered with irregular bodies of water surrounded by rings of houses. Interstate 75 and Florida's Turnpike cross the city on major corridors.
A Miramar map poster captures this very particular landscape of South Florida suburbia. At the western edge, the streets stop and the flat water conservation areas of the Everglades begin. That boundary is sharply visible from above and gives the frame a clear, open edge.

Boulevard grid
Long, straight arterials divide the city into large, regular sections, giving the whole map an organised underlying structure.
Everglades edge
To the west, development ends abruptly where the flat wetlands of the water conservation areas begin, leaving an open, empty margin.
