Calder and canal
The river and the Calder and Hebble Navigation run side by side through the valley. Their loops and straight cuts form the lowest and most fluid lines on the poster.

Mirfield Map Poster & Print
Mirfield lies in the Calder Valley between Huddersfield and Dewsbury, in the Kirklees district of West Yorkshire. The valley itself organises the map. The River Calder and the Calder and Hebble Navigation wind along the bottom, the railway runs close beside them, and the town's streets climb away up the slopes on either side.
Mirfield grew from several settlements that ran together along the valley rather than from one centre, so the map shows a chain of small cores linked by main roads. Terraced streets from the textile era sit low near the river. Later housing spreads uphill, its curving roads following the contours until they give way to fields.
On the hillside above the town stands the Community of the Resurrection, an Anglican religious community whose College of the Resurrection has trained clergy for more than a century. A Mirfield map poster frames all of this in one view: water and rail in the valley, homes and green slopes above, layered in the way typical of Pennine towns.

Valley rail line
The railway runs along the valley floor next to the water, a firm, even stroke that ties Mirfield to Huddersfield, Dewsbury and Leeds.
Hillside housing
Streets climb both sides of the valley in curving, contour-following lines, so the map reads almost like a cross-section of a Pennine town.

Mirfieldを選ぶ理由
想いが詰まった地図
People in Mirfield often describe it by its hills, its river and which side of the valley they lived on. A map shows all of that at a glance and makes a considered gift for someone who grew up here or has moved away.
Personalise the title, add a subtitle such as a street name or year, and adjust the coordinates. Pick Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand, then download the $9 HD set or order a matte print with an optional wooden frame.
