Mukher, also spelled Mukhed, is a town in the Nanded district of Maharashtra, in the Marathwada region of the Deccan plateau. From above, it forms a compact core of close-set lanes and buildings, with a few main roads leading outward through farmland toward neighbouring villages and towns. The surrounding land is flat to gently rolling and largely cultivated.
Like many towns in the region, Mukher serves as a local centre for trade, schooling and administration for the villages around it. Agriculture shapes the landscape, and the fields that surround the town are visible on the map as a loose pattern of plot boundaries and cart tracks, especially beyond the edges of the built-up area.
