Drainage ditches
Straight channels divide the fields into long, narrow parcels. On paper they look like regular hatching across the land, the most distinctive feature of any marsh landscape.

Mulsum Map Poster & Print
Mulsum lies in Land Wursten, the strip of coastal marsh between Bremerhaven and Cuxhaven in Lower Saxony. The land is almost perfectly flat and was won from the sea over centuries. From above, it is defined less by roads than by water: long drainage ditches, straight field boundaries and a coastline protected by dikes.
Settlements in this region traditionally stood on raised mounds known as Wurten, built to keep houses dry during storm floods, and Land Wursten takes its name from them. The village itself is small, a modest cluster of houses and farmsteads along the local roads, with open farmland spreading out in every direction.
The area of about eight square kilometres is mostly fields, ditches and farm tracks. A Mulsum map poster shows that pattern plainly as a fine web of parallel lines describing how the marsh is drained and farmed, while the coast and the tidal flats of the Wadden Sea lie not far to the west.

Village core
The houses of Mulsum gather along a few roads, forming a small, loose cluster that stands out against the open farmland around it.
Coastal marsh
To the west the land runs toward the dike line and the Wadden Sea. It is a low, level coast shaped by tides and storm floods, with no cliffs or dunes.

Mulsumを選ぶ理由
想いが詰まった地図
People usually choose a map of Mulsum for personal reasons: a family farm, a childhood home or a holiday house on the Wursten coast. Its quiet lines suit a kitchen, a hallway or a room in a house far from the sea.
Add a surname, a year or the name of a farm in the title and subtitle, and set the coordinates line to your exact spot. Five styles are available, including Paper and Sand for a softer look. The HD files cost $9 and carry no watermark.
