Navan Map Poster & Print
Navan is the county town of Meath, and its map is organised by two rivers. The Boyne and the Blackwater meet on the edge of the town, and their valleys shape where streets could go. The older centre sits on rising ground above the confluence, with main streets meeting at a compact market core, while newer housing spreads outward along the approach roads.
The surrounding land is some of the richest farmland in Ireland, and the area is full of history: the Hill of Tara is a short distance to the south, and the Boyne Valley holds many heritage sites. Navan is also close to Tara Mines, one of the largest zinc mines in Europe, and has a well-known racecourse.
A Navan map poster traces the meeting of the rivers as two dark curves joining near the town, then lets the street pattern radiate out from the centre. It is a clear, readable composition, with the rivers giving it a natural sense of direction.
