Oi Man Estate is a public housing estate in Ho Man Tin, in Kowloon City district. On a map it looks quite unlike the tight street grids of older Kowloon. Tall residential blocks stand on raised, sloping ground and are linked by internal roads, footpaths and open courtyards that loop around the hillside.
Busy city roads surround the estate, and denser neighbourhoods press against its edges. That contrast defines its footprint. Inside the boundary, buildings sit at angles to one another with space between them. Outside it, the surrounding districts fill almost every block, so the estate reads as a distinct, self-contained piece of the city.
