Orbassano Map Poster & Print
Orbassano lies on the level plain just southwest of Turin, one of the ring of towns that surrounds the Piedmontese capital. On a map its historic centre shows as a tight cluster of streets around the old core, with newer residential blocks spreading outward in more regular grids. To the west the plain runs toward the first slopes of the Alps, visible on clear days from much of the town.
The town is closely tied to Turin's infrastructure. A large rail freight yard on the edge of town draws long parallel lines of track across the map, and the Sangone torrent runs just to the north, its wooded banks forming a soft band. Orbassano is also the site of the San Luigi Gonzaga university hospital, a major medical centre for the Turin area.
