Palisades Park is a compact borough in Bergen County, New Jersey, covering little more than a square mile a short distance inland from the Palisades cliffs along the Hudson. Its map is a tight grid of residential streets, rarely interrupted, with Broad Avenue running north to south as the commercial spine and the green edge of Overpeck Creek bordering the western side.
Broad Avenue is one of the best-known Korean commercial districts on the East Coast, and Korean Americans make up a majority of the borough's population, one of the highest shares of any municipality in the United States. Restaurants, bakeries and shops line the avenue, while the side streets hold closely spaced houses on narrow lots.
