Parvomay Map Poster & Print
Parvomay is a town in Plovdiv province in southern Bulgaria, on the flat, fertile Upper Thracian Plain east of Plovdiv. Its name means First of May. On a map the town has a fairly regular structure, with straight streets and blocks around a central square, and a railway line passing along one side. Farmland, vineyards and orchards surround it in neat, rectangular plots.
The landscape is open and agricultural. Roads extend from the town to nearby villages in straight lines across the plain, and field boundaries form a grid of their own around the settlement. To the south the ground begins to rise towards the foothills of the Rhodope Mountains, which is visible on a wider view as a change from order to irregular terrain.
