Phulwari Sharif sits on the southwestern side of Patna in Bihar, on the broad, flat plain of the Ganges. The land here has almost no relief, so the map is defined entirely by settlement: closely built neighbourhoods, narrow lanes and a handful of larger roads that tie the town to the capital. At the edges, fields and newer housing blur the line between town and city.
The older core shows the tight, irregular street pattern typical of long-settled towns in the region, with lanes turning and branching rather than running straight.
