Piossasco lies southwest of Turin, right where the flat Po plain meets the first Alpine slopes. Monte San Giorgio rises steeply above the town, and the map shows the change clearly: dense streets and regular blocks on the plain, then just a few winding roads and paths climbing into the woods.
The town's older core sits close to the hillside, and newer residential areas and industrial zones have grown outward across the flatter land toward the metropolitan area. The countryside around it is still partly farmed, with long, narrow field boundaries marking the plain between Piossasco and its neighbours.

The mountain's wooded slopes leave a broad empty area, and the streets gather tightly against its base.
