Pir Mahal is a town in Toba Tek Singh District, in the Punjab province of Pakistan, on the fertile plain not far from the Ravi river. This is canal colony country, where irrigation turned the land into productive farmland, and on the map, the influence of that system is obvious: straight channels, straight roads and regular fields in every direction.
The town itself is a compact grid of streets and bazaars, serving the villages around it as a trading centre. A railway line passes through, and roads run outward toward neighbouring towns, giving the built-up area a clear, organised structure within the agricultural landscape.
