Roadside settlement
Homes and shops line the main roads, forming thin, stretched clusters rather than a compact centre. This linear pattern defines the map.

Pulai Map Poster & Print
Pulai is in the inland part of Kedah, away from the rice plains of the coast and closer to the hills that run along the Thai border. The landscape is rolling and green, with rubber and other plantations, secondary forest and small rivers. Settlements follow the roads and the valley floors.
From above, Pulai's map has a loose, linear form. Houses and small clusters of streets line the main routes, with plantation roads and tracks branching into the surrounding land. There is no dense grid; the area's structure comes from terrain and water rather than planning.
A Pulai map poster is quiet and open. Long roads and curving tracks cross the page, with generous blank areas where hills and plantations cover the land. For people from rural Kedah, it shows a familiar, unhurried landscape in a clean, contemporary way.

Plantation tracks
Smaller roads branch off into plantations and smallholdings, adding a fine, irregular pattern around the settlement.
Hilly interior
The terrain of inland Kedah guides the roads along valleys and around slopes, so few lines on the map run straight for long.
