Shared lagoon
A single barrier reef encloses both Raiatea and Taha’a. It draws a fine outer line around the pair and turns the lagoon into a pale band between reef and shore.

Raiatea Map Poster & Print
Raiatea is the second largest of the Society Islands in French Polynesia, after Tahiti. It belongs to the Leeward group and lies beside its smaller neighbour Taha’a. The two islands sit inside one lagoon enclosed by a single barrier reef. On a map they read as a pair held within a thin outer ring, with passes through the reef marking the way in from the open Pacific.
The island itself is steep and green, with high plateaus inland and a coast road that follows the shoreline most of the way round. Uturoa, the main town, is at the northern end near the port and airport. On the eastern side the Faaroa River runs into a deep bay. It is often described as the only navigable river in French Polynesia.
Raiatea is also regarded as a cultural centre of Polynesia. The marae complex of Taputapuātea, on the southeast coast, was inscribed as a UNESCO World Heritage site in 2017, and tradition links it to voyages across the Pacific. A Raiatea map poster captures that setting: a quiet island shape, a reef line and the ocean routes implied beyond it.

Coast road loop
One road follows much of the shoreline, tracing the island’s outline from the inside and linking the villages spaced along its bays and headlands.
Faaroa Bay
A long inlet on the eastern side, where the Faaroa River meets the lagoon, makes a clear break in the coastline and gives the drawing a strong focal point.

Raiateaを選ぶ理由
想いが詰まった地図
This is a map for sailors, divers and anyone who has spent time in the Society Islands. The reef, the lagoon and the mountain core make a composition that feels both precise and open. It pairs naturally with maps of other Pacific islands.
Add a title, a subtitle such as the name of a boat or a passage, and a date in the coordinates line. Then choose from Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. Blueprint suits the lagoon especially well.
