Reinheim lies in the Darmstadt-Dieburg district of southern Hesse, along the Gersprenz river. The town is made up of a main settlement and several smaller districts, spread across the valley floor and its gentle edges. From above, the winding river and the surrounding fields give the map a calm, open feel.
The Odenwald railway passes through, linking Reinheim with Darmstadt and towns further into the hills, and its line draws a steady curve across the landscape. Around the centre, older streets form a compact, irregular pattern. Newer residential areas are laid out in looser loops and cul-de-sacs toward the edges of town.
To the south and east the land begins to rise into the Odenwald, and wooded slopes show up on the map as quieter, emptier spaces. A Reinheim map poster captures that position between plain and upland, and the modest, recognisable layout of a German small town that grew along its river.
