Rinca Island Map Poster & Print
Rinca lies in Indonesia's Lesser Sunda Islands, between Komodo Island to the west and Flores to the east. Its coastline is highly irregular. Long peninsulas and deep bays give it a shape that is hard to describe but easy to recognise on a map. Narrow straits separate it from its neighbours, and small islets are scattered through the surrounding water.
Inland, the island is mostly dry, hilly savanna with patches of forest and mangrove along sheltered bays. There are no main roads, just a few small villages and a ranger station, so the map is almost entirely coastline. That coastline, however, is intricate enough to carry the composition alone.
Rinca is part of Komodo National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and is one of the few places where Komodo dragons live in the wild.
