Rincón de Romos is a town and municipality in the north of Aguascalientes, one of Mexico's smallest states. It lies on the main route north from the state capital towards Zacatecas, on high, semi-arid plains used for farming and livestock. The town serves as the main centre for the northern part of the state.
From above, the centre has the regular block pattern common in the region, with a main square and church at its heart. The highway runs along one side of the town, and a lot of newer development has grown up along it. Beyond the streets, the land opens into large fields and pastures divided by straight tracks, with low hills and ranges on the horizon.
