Rio do Sul Map Poster & Print
Rio do Sul lies in the upper Itajaí Valley in Santa Catarina, at the point where the Itajaí do Sul and Itajaí do Oeste rivers meet to form the Itajaí-Açu. That confluence is the key to the map: two winding rivers join in the middle of the city, and the urban area spreads along their banks and up into the surrounding valleys.
Steep, wooded hills close in on all sides, so the streets follow the flat ground by the water and then climb in curves up the slopes. Bridges cross the rivers at several points, tying together neighbourhoods on different banks. The city has a long history of floods, which have shaped its relationship with the rivers running through its centre.
A Rio do Sul map poster brings out the dramatic geography of a town built at a river junction deep in the hills. The looping water channels, the bridges, the dense centre on the lowlands and the branching streets along the valleys make a composition full of movement, especially in the fine linework of a large print.

Bridges
Several bridges cross the rivers, linking districts on opposite banks. They appear as short, crisp lines that stitch the city together across the water.
Valley streets
Beyond the centre, streets reach into the side valleys and bend around the hills. These branching lines give the map an organic, tree-like structure.

Rio do Sulを選ぶ理由
想いが詰まった地図
Rio do Sul's shape comes directly from its rivers, and anyone who knows the town knows how much the water matters there. A map shows that relationship clearly and makes a meaningful gift for residents and families across the Alto Vale do Itajaí.
Personalise the title, subtitle and coordinates line with a name, a date or a phrase in Portuguese. Pick Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. HD files are $9, and matte prints can be ordered with a wooden frame.
