Romita is a town in the state of Guanajuato, in the Bajío region of central Mexico, a short distance from León and Silao. The land here is broad and level, and from above the town shows a clear central grid of blocks around a main square, with streets extending outward in fairly regular lines before meeting the surrounding fields.
Agriculture shapes the map beyond the town. Farm plots form long rectangles and parcels, divided by straight roads and irrigation channels, and a few smaller communities sit scattered across the plain. The contrast between the dense urban blocks and the geometric patchwork of fields gives the area a very readable structure.
