Salgado Map Poster
Salgado is a small municipality in the interior of Sergipe, the smallest state in Brazil, a short distance inland from the coast. The town itself is compact: a grid of streets around a central core, with houses thinning out quickly into farmland. On the map it appears as a concentrated patch of linework surrounded by open country and a handful of connecting roads.
The name is the Portuguese word for salty, a common place name in Brazil. There is nothing monumental about the plan. Its appeal lies in how clearly it reads: the town's few main streets carry most of the traffic, and the regional roads leading out form clean lines that anchor the composition on each side.
A Salgado map poster works best when it keeps some of that surrounding space. The blank countryside around the town gives the street pattern room to breathe, and it reflects how the town actually sits in its landscape, as a local centre for the farms and smaller communities around it.
