Sátiro Dias is a municipality in the interior of Bahia, in northeastern Brazil, inland from the coast and the Salvador region. The landscape here belongs to the drier country of the Bahian interior, and the town appears on the map as a compact cluster of streets surrounded by farmland, pasture and patches of native scrub.
The urban area is small and fairly regular, with a central square and streets extending out in a loose grid. Rural roads leave the town in several directions towards neighbouring settlements and farms, and between them the land is marked by field boundaries, tracks and occasional reservoirs or dams that hold water through the dry months.
