Shāhi is a town in the Bareilly district of Uttar Pradesh, on the wide alluvial plain of northern India. On a map, the land around it is almost entirely flat, and the town is a compact knot of lanes and roads. A handful of routes leave it toward nearby villages and the larger market towns of the district.
This part of Uttar Pradesh is mostly farmland, watered by the rivers and canals that cross the Gangetic plain. Towns like Shāhi act as local centres for trade, schooling and daily errands for the villages around them.
