Shek O Map Poster & Print
Shek O sits at the southeastern corner of Hong Kong Island, at the end of a winding road over the hills. It feels far removed from the towers of the harbour front. On a map it is a small cluster of lanes and village houses on a low neck of land, with the open South China Sea on one side and a sweep of sand on the other.
The beach at Shek O is one of the best known on the island, and the rocky headland beyond it pushes out into the water. Behind the village, the ridge carries the Dragon's Back trail, a popular walk with long sea views. Big Wave Bay lies just to the north, another curve of coastline on the same map.
A Shek O map poster is mostly about edges: the jagged coast, the smooth arc of the beach, the thin road coming over the hill. The village itself is a delicate knot of short streets. It is a very different image of Hong Kong, spacious and quiet, framed by rock and sea.
