Shuanglonghu lies in Chongqing's Yubei District, north of the old city's river peninsula. From above, it shows the typical Chongqing pattern where the terrain dictates the plan: roads follow valleys and wrap around low ridges, leaving green hilltops as islands among dense blocks. There is little of the straight grid seen on flat Chinese plains.
Large residential compounds and wide boulevards make up most of the built area, with expressway ramps curving in broad loops where major routes meet. Small lakes and ponds, together with the parks around them, add rounded patches of calm. The name itself means Double Dragon Lake, a reminder that water was part of the picture from the start.
