Shuren Map Poster & Print
Shuren is a town in Chongqing, in the eastern hill country around the Yangtze. The ground here is rarely flat, and the map shows it clearly. Roads bend around slopes, climb in switchbacks and meet at irregular junctions. Nothing on the plan comes close to a grid, and the land itself decides where each line can go.
The built-up area gathers wherever the ground allows, usually along a valley floor or a main road. It thins quickly into terraced farmland and scattered hamlets. This gives the poster an unusual composition: a small, concentrated knot of streets surrounded by a wide, loose web of rural lanes that trace the shape of the hills.
Because the landscape does so much of the work, a Shuren map poster reads almost like a relief drawing. There is no shaded terrain, but the curving lines still show where ridges rise and where water collects. This is typical of towns across this part of Chongqing.
