Sibbo Map Poster & Print
Sibbo, Sipoo in Finnish, lies just east of Helsinki on the Gulf of Finland. It is a bilingual municipality with a strong Swedish-speaking tradition. Its map does not look like a single town. It is a wide landscape of forest and fields, with a few village centres, the largest being Nikkilä and Söderkulla, joined by winding roads.
To the south, the mainland breaks up into a complex coastline of bays, inlets and a scattering of islands in the archipelago. In the west, towards Helsinki, lies Sipoonkorpi National Park, a large block of forest very close to the capital. River valleys and farmland run north to south between the woods.
A Sibbo map poster is as much a landscape portrait as a street plan. The coastline, scattered villages and roads crossing the countryside make a composition with lots of breathing space. In black and white, the islands and bays along the south edge become a fine, lace-like border.

Nikkilä and Söderkulla are the main built-up areas. They appear as small, compact street networks separated by fields and forest.
Sipoonkorpi forest
A large protected forest, now a national park, covers the western part of the municipality. On the map it is a broad, quiet expanse right next to the capital region.
