Somerton Map Poster & Print
Somerton is a city in Yuma County, Arizona, near the borders with Mexico and California. From above, it is a neat grid of streets set among rectangular agricultural fields, with irrigation canals and farm roads cutting across the flat desert land that the nearby Colorado River has made productive.
Agriculture shapes Somerton. The Yuma area is one of the country's major winter vegetable-growing regions, and many residents work in the fields that surround the town. Its population is largely Hispanic, and it has close ties to communities just across the border.
A Somerton map poster shows a place where the grid runs almost everywhere. Town blocks, field boundaries and canals all follow the same straight lines, so the town merges into the surrounding patchwork of farmland. The result is calm, geometric and very clearly Southwestern.

Field patchwork
Large rectangular fields surround the town and give the map a repeating geometric pattern that continues well past the built-up edge.
Irrigation canals
Straight canals cross the farmland and carry Colorado River water to the fields. They add fine lines of water to the composition.

Somertonを選ぶ理由
想いが詰まった地図
Somerton's map suits families with deep roots in the Yuma valley, and farm workers and growers who know these fields well. Its orderly geometry sits nicely in modern interiors.
Add a family name, a year or a personal message in the title, subtitle and coordinates line. Styles are Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint and Sand. Sand suits the desert setting well.
