Central plaza grid
The historic centre forms a tidy checkerboard of colonial blocks around the main square and cathedral, the densest and most regular part of the map and its natural focal point.

Tehuacán Map Poster & Print
Tehuacán occupies a wide valley in the southeast of Puebla state, a semi-arid landscape of cacti and low sierras. The historic centre is laid out on the familiar Spanish colonial pattern: a square plaza, a cathedral, and a regular grid of blocks running out in each direction. As the city grew, the grid was stretched and bent to meet highways and the rising ground at the valley edges.
On a map the difference between old and new is easy to read. The central blocks are tight and even, while outer districts break into irregular subdivisions, industrial zones and roads heading toward Puebla and Oaxaca. Beyond the last streets the pattern dissolves into dry farmland and the open terrain of the Tehuacán-Cuicatlán Biosphere Reserve, a UNESCO World Heritage site since 2018.
The city is known across Mexico for its mineral springs, and its name has long been associated with bottled water. Archaeologists have also studied the Tehuacán Valley as one of the places where the early domestication of maize can be traced. A Tehuacán map poster brings that long human story down to a simple image of streets meeting desert.

Highway corridors
Major roads leave the city toward Puebla and Oaxaca, stretching the urban area along their routes and giving the poster a set of strong lines that cut across the grid.
Desert valley edges
Around the city, the street pattern gives way to open semi-arid land and low mountains, the setting of a biosphere reserve known for its remarkable concentration of columnar cacti.
