Thap Than Map Poster & Print
Thap Than is a district town in Uthai Thani province in central Thailand, on the western edge of the country's great rice-growing plain. From above, the town forms a small cluster of streets around its main roads, surrounded by an expanse of paddy fields divided into irregular plots.
The area is agricultural, and the landscape changes through the year as fields are flooded, planted and harvested. On a map those seasonal changes disappear, leaving the permanent structure: field boundaries, irrigation channels, farm tracks and the village clusters that sit among them.
A Thap Than map poster is a study in quiet geometry. The town is modest, the roads are few and the field pattern fills everything else with a fine, repeated texture. For anyone who knows the district, it is an honest portrait of home rather than a postcard view.

Around the town, rice fields form a fine patchwork of small plots. In monochrome, they become a subtle, woven texture.
Scattered village clusters
Small groups of houses and temples appear among the fields, each a dense spot in the open country around the district town.
