Tlaquiltenango is in the south of Morelos, Mexico, in a warm valley of sugarcane, rice fields and rivers. From above, the town sits right next to Jojutla, the two separated by a river and connected by bridges, so their streets look almost like a single city split by water.
South of the town the land rises into the Sierra de Huautla, a region of dry tropical forest that is protected as a biosphere reserve and falls largely within the municipality. The map therefore changes character quickly: a dense grid near the river, farmland around it, and emptier, hilly terrain toward the south.
A Tlaquiltenango map poster captures that range. The town grid, the river curves and the bridges to Jojutla form the centre of the image, while roads leading into the hills stretch outward. It's a small place, but its setting between valley and sierra gives the map real depth.
