Touboro is a town in Cameroon's North Region, in the Mayo-Rey area close to where the borders of Cameroon, Chad and the Central African Republic meet. On a map it forms a loose settlement of wide streets, compounds and open plots, spread across level savanna land and connected to the outside world by a few main roads.
The surrounding region is farming country where cotton and food crops are grown in wide, irregular fields, with seasonal rivers and wooded savanna in between. Roads run out from the town toward the borders and toward the regional centres, and the map around Touboro becomes a patchwork of tracks, cultivated land and small villages.
