Três Pontas Map Poster & Print
Três Pontas lies in the south of Minas Gerais, in rolling country covered with coffee plantations. The town takes its name from the Serra de Três Pontas, a ridge with three distinct summits that rises nearby. On a map, the town shows a fairly regular grid of blocks around the central square and church, with streets following the gentle slopes and fading into farmland.
Coffee has shaped the town's economy for generations, and the surrounding municipality is among the notable producers in a region known for its beans. The singer and composer Milton Nascimento grew up in Três Pontas, and the town is closely associated with him and with the musicians of the Clube da Esquina movement.
A Três Pontas map poster brings out the typical plan of a Brazilian interior town: squares, straight streets and a centre you can see at a glance. The rural roads leaving town hint at the plantations beyond. The result is a map that feels orderly without being rigid.

Street grid
Blocks of fairly regular size spread outward from the centre. The streets bend gently where the land rises or falls.
Rural roads
Country roads run out of town toward coffee farms and the hills of the serra. They draw thin lines into the open space around the town.
