Truskavets is a resort town in the Lviv region of western Ukraine, in the foothills of the Carpathians. It is known for its mineral springs, especially the Naftusya water, and it has drawn visitors for treatment since the nineteenth century. The whole town is organised around this purpose.
On a map, Truskavets looks different from ordinary towns of its size. There is a central resort park with walking paths and pump rooms, and around it lie sanatoriums, hotels and villas set among trees. Streets curve with the hilly ground instead of following a strict grid, and forest presses in at the edges.
