Irrigated field pattern
Canals and field boundaries break the land around town into long rectangles. On the poster they become a fine, repeating grid that fills the space around the built-up area.

Vakhsh Map Poster & Print
Vakhsh is a small town in Khatlon Province in southwestern Tajikistan. It takes its name from the Vakhsh River, which runs down through the valley. From above, the town is a modest cluster of streets surrounded by farmland. The fields are divided into long rectangular plots, and canals and field edges give the land a regular, measured look that extends far past the last houses.
The river matters more here than any single building. The Vakhsh is one of the major rivers of Central Asia. Farther south it meets the Panj, and together they form the Amu Darya. Irrigation from the Vakhsh has shaped farming across this part of Khatlon, so the land around the town is covered in straight channels and neatly divided plots, a pattern that reads clearly in black and white.
A Vakhsh map poster shows this relationship between a settlement and its farmland. The residential streets form a dense centre, the roads leading out run straight between the fields, and the waterways thread through the surrounding plots. Without colour or terrain shading, the drawing is reduced to lines and the spaces between them. It is a quiet, orderly composition that suits a small town defined by its valley.

The Vakhsh valley
The town lies in the wide, low valley of the Vakhsh River. The river is a major tributary that later joins the Panj to form the Amu Darya, one of Central Asia's great rivers.
Compact town centre
The residential streets make a small, dense knot of lines. Surrounded by open farmland, the centre stands out clearly and gives the composition an obvious focal point.

Vakhshを選ぶ理由
想いが詰まった地図
People who grew up in Vakhsh, or have family in Khatlon, often want a picture of home that feels personal but not sentimental. A map works well for this. It records the streets and fields as they actually are, and it also suits a hallway, a study or a gift sent to relatives abroad.
You can personalise the title, subtitle and coordinates line, so you can add a family name, a date or a note. There are five styles: Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint and Sand. HD files in six sizes cost $9, and printed posters with an optional wooden frame ship from partners in 30+ countries.
