Vilāngudi Map Poster & Print
Vilāngudi is a locality on the north-western side of Madurai, one of the oldest cities in Tamil Nadu. On a map, it lies where the dense urban fabric of Madurai begins to loosen, with residential streets giving way to open land and major roads heading out of the city.
Madurai itself is known for the Meenakshi Amman Temple, whose concentric streets define the historic core. Vilāngudi, further out, has a different character: a mix of older settlement and newer housing, with streets laid out in blocks and lanes rather than the temple city's rings.
A Vilāngudi map poster presents this edge-of-city landscape: the tight grid of residential lanes, the arterial roads leading toward the centre and to other towns, and the open spaces that still remain. For families who have built homes here, it is a precise record of their part of Madurai.
