Yaloké lies in the Ombella-M'Poko prefecture of the Central African Republic, on the main road that leads west from Bangui toward the Cameroon border. On the map the town takes its shape from that route: a line of streets and compounds along the road, with smaller lanes branching off into the surrounding neighbourhoods and fields.
The countryside around Yaloké is wooded savanna, crossed by streams that run through low, gently rolling terrain. Much of the land is farmed in small plots, and the map shows it as open space marked by footpaths and tracks that connect the town to outlying villages. Little here follows a rigid plan, which gives the poster a soft, organic quality.
