Hundred trees
The town's name refers to trees, rare on the open steppe, and the tree-lined streets at its centre give the small grid a softer look.

Zuunmod Map Poster
Zuunmod, also written Dzuunmod, is the capital of Töv Aimag, the province that surrounds Ulaanbaatar. Its name means a hundred trees. It sits in a broad valley below the southern slopes of Bogd Khan Uul, and the road from the capital crosses this range to get there.
From above, the settlement is compact. A handful of wide streets form the centre, with public buildings and apartment blocks set in a regular pattern. Around them, fenced household plots spread out in uneven rows. A Zuunmod map poster places these two textures side by side, with the steppe starting where the fences end.
The land around the town is almost unbroken, with grassland, dirt tracks and the soft contours of hills to the north. Printed in black and white, the town is a small, clearly defined shape, and the tracks leading away from it give the sheet a sense of distance.

Fenced plots
Households on the edge of town live in fenced yards with gers or small houses, forming rows of rectangles around the centre.
Steppe tracks
Beyond the last streets, dirt tracks run out across the grassland in loose lines and connect the town to herders' camps and villages.

Zuunmodを選ぶ理由
想いが詰まった地図
A map of Zuunmod is a picture of scale: a small town and a very large landscape. It speaks to people who grew up in the province, or who have family there, and to anyone who has spent time on the steppe.
Edit the title and subtitle, add a date or a personal line to the coordinates, and choose one of five styles. HD files cost $9 and come as 300 DPI PNG and print-ready PDF files, with no watermark.
