The Romanche corridor
The river and the main road run close together through the commune. They make a pair of parallel lines that set the direction of the whole map and show how tight the valley is here.

Le Freney-d'Oisans Map Poster & Print
Le Freney-d'Oisans is a small commune in the Oisans, the mountain country of the Isère department. On a map the Romanche valley narrows here. The river, the main road towards the Col du Lautaret and the houses of the village all share a thin strip of flatter ground, with steep slopes rising on both sides. The commune is small, and the walls of the valley take up most of it.
The village grew along the valley's main road rather than around a square, so its streets follow the terrain closely. Above it, small hamlets sit on the gentler shelves of the slope, joined by winding roads. The large ski areas of the Oisans are nearby. Many visitors stay in the valley and travel up to them, so the village mostly offers a quieter base.
A Le Freney-d'Oisans map poster is mostly about the terrain. The valley road and the river run side by side through the frame, a few clusters of buildings hold onto them, and the contour of the land does most of the work. The result is spare and linear, and it suits anyone who knows this road from summer cycling trips or winter drives up to the slopes.

Hillside hamlets
Small groups of houses sit on the gentler ledges above the valley floor, connected by switchback roads. On paper they look like scattered marks linked by fine, looping threads.
Road to the passes
The valley road is the main route east towards the high passes of the Oisans. It is well known to cyclists and drivers, and it crosses the map as its strongest single line.

რატომ Le Freney-d'Oisans
რუკა, რომელსაც მნიშვნელობა აქვს
Some people choose the small place they stay in rather than the famous resort up the road. This poster suits them. It records a valley you drove through at dawn, or a village you came back to after long days on the mountain.
Put the village name in the title, add dates or a note in the subtitle, and keep the coordinates line for accuracy. The Paper and Sand styles bring out the terrain softly. Blueprint and Noir give a more graphic look. There are five styles to choose from.
