Thames and Sunbury Lock
The river bounds the town to the south, splitting around islands at Sunbury Lock and its weir. Those parallel channels give the lower edge of the poster a fine, layered detail.

Sunbury-on-Thames Map Poster & Print
Sunbury-on-Thames sits on the north bank of the Thames in the borough of Spelthorne. It was historically part of Middlesex and is now in Surrey. The river forms its southern edge, and the map is organised around that long, gentle curve: older streets and riverside houses near the water, with suburban roads spreading north toward the reservoirs and open land beyond.
Sunbury Lock and its weir split the river into parallel channels with small islands between them, a detail that shows clearly from above. Within the town lies Kempton Park, whose racecourse oval is one of the most recognisable shapes on the local map, while the M3 motorway cuts a straight line through the streets on its way toward London.
A Sunbury-on-Thames map poster shows how a riverside village became a commuter town while keeping its link to the water. In black and white, the river channels, the racecourse loop, the motorway and the large embanked reservoirs combine into a composition that belongs unmistakably to the Thames valley, balanced between suburb and open water.

Kempton Park racecourse
The racecourse's long oval track is one of the clearest geometric forms in the area, a smooth loop that stands out against the surrounding suburban streets.
Reservoirs and the M3
Large embanked reservoirs sit at the town's edges, and the M3 slices through in a straight line. Together they add bold, simple shapes to an otherwise fine-grained map.
