Fano sits on the Adriatic coast of the Marche, where the ancient Via Flaminia reached the sea. The Romans knew it as Fanum Fortunae, and the old town still follows their plan: a regular grid of straight streets inside a walled rectangle. The Arch of Augustus, the monumental gateway on the Flaminia, still stands at the western entrance to the centre.
Seen from above, Fano has three clear parts: the compact walled centre, the harbour and canal to the northeast, and long stretches of sand running along the shore in both directions. The Metauro river reaches the sea a short way to the south. Fano is also known for its carnival, one of the oldest in Italy, where sweets are thrown from the floats into the crowd.
A Fano map poster makes the town's Roman order easy to see. The straight streets of the centre sit against the soft curve of the coastline, and the sea fills one side of the sheet with open space. It is a map for people who spent summers here, or who like a coastline with a clearly legible story.

The gate stands where the Via Flaminia entered the town. On the map it sits on the axis that leads straight into the old grid.
The fishing harbour and canal break the shoreline, with long, straight beaches running north and south that edge the poster in clean lines.

Fano is where many families return summer after summer, and a map of it holds those memories quietly. The Roman grid and open sea give it a balanced composition that suits a living room or a room near the coast.
Add the dates of a holiday, a wedding or the family surname to the title and subtitle, and adjust the coordinates line. Pick from five styles: Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint and Sand. A free 900 px preview lets you check the layout before you buy.
