Al Qubbah lies on the Jebel Akhdar, the Green Mountain, a limestone plateau in eastern Libya that receives more rain than most of the country. The town sits on the road between Derna and Bayda. The plateau is cut by wadis that run north towards the Mediterranean coast, creating deep, winding valleys in the landscape.
